The Makings of Sushi
May 19
7 p.m.
Kwan Court
North Rock Road
Cost: $25/$30 non-members

"Sushi (SOO-shee), a Japanese specialty based on boiled rice flavored with a
sweetened Rice Vinegar."And you thought it was just raw fish. Actually, according to the Food Lover's Companion, it can be raw fish and so much more. Vegetables, raw fish, meats and more are enclosed in the sushi rice and wrapped in thin sheets of Nori (seaweed). Cut into slices, sushi can be served as appetizers, snacks or a full meal.

Join us for a Sushi tasting at Kwan Court as their sushi chef demonstrates the finer points of making Making Sushi and after the demonstration, we will enjoy California Maki, Wichita Maki, Spider Maki and Tuna Maki. We will also be tasting some Sakes and Plum Wine. Addie Scott  from the Sidney Frank Importing Company will be on hand to talk about Gekkeikan Sake and the Plum Wine.

An interesting event for the adventurous AIWF members, here are some photos of the fun...
