Free State Brewing Company
Beer Dinner!
February 18 • 7 p.m. • Larkspur
Special Guest: Free State Executive Chef Rick Martin
Members $40/Non-members $45
Seating Limited

While our name says "wine," beer — and the excitement of beer being paired with outstanding food — fits  the mission of AIWF to "enhance the quality of life by providing education about what we eat and drink."  And with Rick Martin leading us through this pairing of five of Free State's finest beers matched to meet his exacting standards and partnered with Ty Issa, owner of Larkspur and Executive Chef, this event is sure to be exceptional. Martin, Executive Chef for Free State, has created an inviting menu of rustic beer cuisine and interesting ways of pairing food with beer. In addition to cooking at the brewery, he's participated in cooking performances at the Great American Beer Festival and his recipes are featured in "The Best of American Beer and Food," by Lucy Saunders.  The Free State Brewing Co. opened in 1989 as the first legal brewery in Kansas in more than 100 years. It is located in a renovated inter-urban trolly station in historic downtown Lawrence. Proud of the history of brewing in Kansas, Free State has done its very best to re-establish the tradition of fine hand-crafted beers, produced close to home.
